Heart - "Crazy On You(Live)"

This is a great song and it seems that no matter how old Ann Wilson gets, she can still belt it out.

"Turn Up the Radio" by Autograph

Remember this one?
I always liked the message. The quality is not that good, but it was a fun song.

Wednesday, December 29, 2010

Sheryl Crow - "Steve McQueen"

Ok, I'm putting this one up because I've kind of been crushing on her lately. I don't know why, I just am. She has a great voice and some really good songs.

And theres nothing wrong with a little hottie who drives an old Mustang and a GT40 in this video. Can you guess how old she is? I bet you'll be shocked to find out.

Thursday, December 23, 2010

Beck - "Loser"

I'm feeling for some funky Beck.

"And my time is a piece of wax fallin’ on a termite
who's chokin’ on the splinters"

Wednesday, December 22, 2010

"WICKED GAME" - Chris Isaak

I've been in this sexual mood lately, so I think Helena Christensen will fit the bill just fine today. Its fitting, don't you think?

Tuesday, December 21, 2010

Limp Bizkit - "Break Stuff"

You ever have days like this, yea, me too.

Monday, December 20, 2010

Butthole Surfers - "Pepper"

Something funky for a Monday.

This is a really cool song.

"I don't mind the sun sometimes
The images it shows
I can taste you on my lips
And smell you in my clothes
Cinnamon and sugary
And softly spoken lies
You never know just how you look
Through other people's eyes"

Saturday, December 18, 2010

Golden earring - "Twilight zone"

How about a classic for the weekend?

Friday, December 17, 2010

Franz Ferdinand - "Take Me Out"

I've heard some other music from this band, but nothing stands out to me as much as this one. There's just something really catchy about that guitar riff.

Thursday, December 16, 2010

Revis - "Caught In The Rain"

This is a really cool song, its even better when accompanied by this motorcycle video (Click away)

Wednesday, December 15, 2010

HELLYEAH - "You Wouldn't Know"

I promised something better today, here ya go.

Tuesday, December 14, 2010

Bryan Adams - "Run To You"

Still one great album after all these years.
I was actually able to see him perform about five years ago, he opened for Def Leppard, and I can tell you that he still puts on one hell of a show.

Monday, December 13, 2010

Tonic - "If You Could Only See"

I always thought this was a cool song, but you really have to read the lyrics to feel it. (I added them below)

Friday, December 10, 2010

Marilyn Manson - "Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This)"

I've always liked the original by the Eurythmics but this is a really cool remake thats been around for years. And yes I do like other stuff by Manson as well.

Thursday, December 9, 2010

Primus - "Wynona's Big Brown Beaver"

Primus always has the best slap base sound, this seems fitting for HNT day.

Wednesday, December 8, 2010

Beastie Boys - "Sabotage"

How about some Beastie Boys for a hump-day morning?

Tuesday, December 7, 2010

James - "Laid" (live)

This is a fun song, enjoy.

Monday, December 6, 2010

Rob Zombie - "Dragula"

How bout a little Rob Zombie to start out the week. This man has some great music.

Saturday, December 4, 2010

The Cure - "Lovesong"

An old favorite for the weekend. I was never a big fan of the group, but always liked this one.

"What ever words I say, I will always love you"

Thursday, December 2, 2010

Trapt - "Stand Up"

These guys have a lot of good stuff out there, but this one has struck a chord with me for awhile now. I listened to this a few times already this morning in my truck at ear bleeding level, it just plain rocks.

"You start a fire inside that I can never control, you want to see a reaction"

"Stand up, I have had enough. Walk away before I finish what you started"

Wednesday, December 1, 2010

Eve 6 - "Inside Out"

I love this song.

"Wanna put my tender heart in a blender, watch it spin round to a beautiful oblivion"

"Tie me to the bed post"

Tuesday, November 30, 2010

Manowar - "Heart of Steel"

Ok, so they fit every stereo-type for 80's rock, but this is a really cool album nun-the-less. This is one of their softer tunes.

I did put a different song by them up on the playlist, I could not get a full version of this one.

Monday, November 29, 2010

Megadeth - "Hangar 18"

Ok, I'm back. I know you've missed me, I've been gone for a week so lets start with something heavy.

I've never been a huge Megadeth fan but there are some songs I really like by them, such as this one. I love the guitar onslaught on this.

Friday, November 19, 2010

Slash - "Beautiful Dangerous" ft. Fergie

Since I already put this up elsewhere, I figured I may as well add it here.

I knew Slash had a new album out, but I didn't know he had Fergie singing on one of the tracks. I came upon this last night, and have to say I find Fergie incredibly sexy in this video. I had to share the sexiness here.

The Verve -"Bittersweet Symphony"

I had never really heard this song until seeing the movie Cruel Intentions, and I've liked it ever since. This song is very popular world wide but The Verve would eventually loose all rights to it.

Excerpt from Wiki: Although the song's lyrics were written by Verve vocalist Richard Ashcroft, it has been credited to Keith Richards andMick Jagger after charges by the original copyright owners that the song was plagiarized from the Andrew Oldham Orchestra recording of The Rolling Stones' 1965 song "The Last Time."

Originally, The Verve had negotiated a licence to use a sample from the Oldham recording, but it was successfully argued that the Verve had used 'too much' of the sample.[5] Despite having original lyrics, the music of "Bitter Sweet Symphony" is partially based on the Oldham track, which led to a lawsuit with ABKCO RecordsAllen Klein's company that owns the rights to the Rolling Stones material of the 1960s. The matter was eventually settled, with copyright of the song reverting to ABKCO and songwriting credits to Jagger and Richards.
"We were told it was going to be a 50/50 split, and then they saw how well the record was doing," says band memberSimon Jones. "They rung up and said, 'We want 100 percent or take it out of the shops, you don't have much choice.'"

Thursday, November 18, 2010

Pearl Jam - "Even Flow"

Another really great band. I maintain to this day that Ten is one of the best albums made, from beginning to end, just awesome. Eddie Vedder's vocal power combined with an incredible band, just pure power.

Wednesday, November 17, 2010

Alice In Chains - "Man In The Box"

This was another game changer, at least in my eyes. This song took grunge to a whole different level, and AIC would continue to evolve their sound, even after the loss of Layne Staley in 2002, they power on today.

I absolutely love this song.

Tuesday, November 16, 2010

Violent Femmes "Blister in the Sun"

Forgive me for not posting yesterday, we had a blizzard here in the north east dumping about two feet on us from Sunday into Monday. The internet had been down all day and there are still bad roads and power outages to contend with through out the area.

Anyway, this is a song I got turned onto by one of my favorite movies, "Grosse Point Blank".

Pink Floyd "Sorrow" HD

I can't believe I've not put up anything from Pink Floyd yet, they have to be one of the greatest bands to ever play, in my humble opinion.  This is a great song that highlights some of David Gilmour's guitar work.  This performance is off of the Pulse DVD, an incredible two disc show.  There have been many nights where I will retreat to my man-town, put this DVD in, crank up the sound, and just enjoy.

Unfortunately, Playlist does not list any Pink Floyd songs so I can't add anything to the player. You'll have to just enjoy the video.

Monday, November 15, 2010

Disturbed - "Down With The Sickness" (Explicit)

I figured we needed something heavy for a Monday morning, Disturbed will always fit that bill.

Saturday, November 13, 2010

Three Days Grace - "Pain"

Three Days Grace is another band that if you've not heard them, your missing out.  They have had quite a few hits, and the two albums that I own by them are good works. This song is a great representation of their sound.

Friday, November 12, 2010

Tesla - "Modern Day Cowboy"

These guys had quite a few hits in their day, but this one is my favorite.

Thursday, November 11, 2010

Slaughter - "Up All Night"

Yep, I got some more 80's lined up for you. This was a great one from Slaughter.

Wednesday, November 10, 2010

Queensryche - Eyes Of A Stranger

What can I say about Queensryche? How about they just plain fucking rock. Two really good albums, Operation Mindcrime and Empire are both on my high rotation list. This song is off of Mindcrime.

Tuesday, November 9, 2010

Live - "I Alone" (Live At Paradiso)

I've always like the Throwing Copper album from these guys, they always seem to have good music.

Monday, November 8, 2010

Nickelback - "Leader Of Men"

Before Niclelback hit the big time, they had this single out. It is still one of my favorites by them.

Friday, November 5, 2010

Kate Nash - "Foundations"

I happened to stumble upon this song Wednesday night while watching a concert filmed in England with Linkin Park. I have to say I like it, a good song with these funny yet truthful lyrics all sung with a great accent. I listened to it a few times yesterday and do really like it, apparently its been around since 2007. I also found another one by her called "Dickhead" that is a good tune as well.

Thursday, November 4, 2010

The Allman Brothers Band "Whipping Post"

A great classic for a Thursday, my favorite by The Allman Brothers Band.
Because sometimes I feel....

Wednesday, November 3, 2010

Nine Inch Nails - "Closer"

This is a great fucking song. The chorus gets me every time.

Tuesday, November 2, 2010

Hurricane - "Over The Edge" Live

I've been listening to this CD for a week now, it has not left my truck since I got it.  A huge thanks to Beryl for the gift of music, she sent me a gift card for Amazon and I was able to pick up some great CD's, she's like my dealer keeping me hooked on my drug of choice ;).  This video is a live version of the song that I like the most by them, not quite so good in the quality department, but its really hard to find some decent stuff by more obscure bands on YouTube, and of course I can't find it for the media player.  Anyhow, great band, catchy songs, and the lead singer has a great voice. Enjoy.

Monday, November 1, 2010

Johnny Cash - 'Hurt"

Mr. Cash doing a remake from another favorite band of mine. This was just before his death a few years ago. He always had such a great voice.

Saturday, October 30, 2010

Eminem - "Loose Yourself"

Something about this mans music is just addictive, his lyrics, rhymes, and style are in a class by themselves.

Thursday, October 28, 2010

A Perfect Circle - "Judith" (Unedited Video)

This is a great song, I've liked this group since I first heard them.

Wednesday, October 27, 2010

AFI - "Miss Murder" (Long Version)

I love this song. This is the long version which includes Prelude 12/21 before they break into Miss Murder.

Great fucking song.

Tuesday, October 26, 2010

Evanescence - "Bring Me To Life"

Good voice and good music. I only have their first album but it is very good overall.

Monday, October 25, 2010

Linkin Park - "Somewhere I Belong"

I'm been a fan of these guys since day one, a great mix of rock, rap, melody, and vocals.
Though I'm not as impressed with their newer material.

Saturday, October 23, 2010

Rage Against The Machine -"Killing in the Name"

Always a favorite of mine since I heard my first Tom Morello riffs and Zack de la Rocha lyrics, Rage....

Friday, October 22, 2010

Dangerous Toys - "Feels Like a Hammer"

Yes, I know I like a lot of 80's stuff, but this band got my attention with their single "Scared" when it first hit the air waves. After buying the album, I found that I liked just about everything on there, especially this song, which was never released as a single and I think could have done quite well on its own.

Unfortunately, the media player only has one song from this band available and its not this one.

Thursday, October 21, 2010

Tom Petty "Don't Come Around Here No More"

This is the only guy I've actually been to see live a few times. He is such a great showman and puts on a great concert, if you ever get the chance, I highly suggest it.

Wednesday, October 20, 2010

Skid Row - "Youth Gone Wild"

One of the great bands of the 80's and early 90's, I think these guys were underrated by many.

Tuesday, October 19, 2010

Iron Maiden - "Revelations" (live after death)

One of my all time favorite bands, from the guitar onslaught to Bruce's ripping vocals, just great music.

This is by far one of the greatest live albums ever.

Monday, October 18, 2010

Bush - "Little Things"

Now I know all the women like Bush because of Gavin, but the do have great music as well.

Sunday, October 17, 2010

Urge Overkill - "Sister Havana"

This may have been their only big hit, but it is one of those catchy toons. All in all, a good song from the early 90's.

Saturday, October 16, 2010

The Toadies - "Possum Kingdom"

Another great song that deserves more air time.

Thursday, October 14, 2010

Blind Melon - "No Rain"

These guys would have been huge had Shannon Hoon not died of a heart attack caused by a cocaine overdose. This is from 1993, two years before his death.

Wednesday, October 13, 2010

Orgy - ''Blue Monday''

I love this fucking song.

Tuesday, October 12, 2010

Metallica - "The Day That Never Comes"

Nice to see Metallica got their groove back. The video is pretty cool too, a nod to the troops.

Monday, October 11, 2010

Can I Get An Amen to that...

Everclear - "Santa Monica"

I've always loved the line "with my big black boots and an old suitcase."

The media player didn't have "Santa Monica" on it, so there is a different song on there, "Father Of Mine".

Saturday, October 9, 2010

Dream Theater - "Pull Me Under"

I'll leave you with an old favorite for the weekend. These guys rock.

Friday, October 8, 2010

Cracker - "Low"

Just another song I've always enjoyed.

Thursday, October 7, 2010

Staind - "It's Been Awhile" & "Outside" w/ Fred Durst

I've always been a big fan of these guys. A local radio station happens to be running a contest where you can get up on stage and sing Outside with Aaron Lewis when he performs this week. That would be pretty fucking cool.

I'm also including the Outside duet with Fred Durst because I love the conviction in which Aaron sings this version. Just watch and you'll see what I mean.

Wednesday, October 6, 2010

Guns N' Roses - "Paradise City"

Ok, nothing new here, but these guys were definite game changers as well. I absolutely love to watch Slash play guitar. Talk about a band that could have done so much more if they could have kept it together, but someones ego got in the way.

Tuesday, October 5, 2010

Nirvana - "Smells Like Teen Spirit"

These guys were game changers. In an era of glam bands, they ripped apart the status quo with this song forever changing the landscape of rock music.

I still remember the first time I heard this. I was handed an insiders demo tape with some new artist. This was on there and it blew my mind, I listened to it a lot for about 3 months until it hit the airwaves, and the rest is history.

Monday, October 4, 2010

Screaming Trees - "Nearly Lost You"

Anyone remember this one?

Saturday, October 2, 2010

Kitaro - "Orochi"

This is some really cool instrumental stuff that I enjoy. Yes, its way different than what I have normally been posting. I only have this one CD by Kitaro, but it is really good.

Friday, October 1, 2010

"I Cant Get No (Satisfaction)" - The Rolling Stones Original Clip

I'm dedicating this one to my friend Danielle. Hang in there.

Thursday, September 30, 2010

"Long Cool Woman in a Black Dress" - The Hollies

Some things just keep getting better with age ;)
Oh yea, this song too. Going old school here.

Wednesday, September 29, 2010

"You're Going Down" - Sick Puppies

This is a really cool song that came out this year. Listen to that opening bass riff, sweet.

Tuesday, September 28, 2010

Kenny Wayne Shepherd "Blue On Black" Live

If you've never heard of Kenny Wayne Shepherd, you're missing out on one great guitarist. This particular song is one of my favorites by him.

Excerpt from Wikipedia: Kenny Wayne Shepherd (born Kenny Wayne Brobst, on June 12, 1977, Shreveport, Louisiana[1]) is an American blues guitarist, singer, and songwriter. He has released several studio albums and experienced a rare level of commercial success both as a blues artist and a young musician.[2] In 1997, Guitar World ranked Shepherd #3 after B.B. King and Eric Clapton on their list of popular blues artists.[3]

Monday, September 27, 2010

Eric Clapton - Layla (Unplugged).avi

I don't know about you, but I'm in the mood for a little slow hand.
Clapton just exudes passion for music.

Friday, September 24, 2010

Apocalyptica featuring Corey Taylor - "I'm Not Jesus"

Here is a great tune from Apocalyptica.

Thursday, September 23, 2010

"Hard Sun" by Eddie Vedder

You ever just have a song hit you a certain way? I have not heard this in at least a year and just had the urge to listen to it. It just goes right through you, I don't know how to explain it, though I tried.

Wednesday, September 22, 2010

Tool - "Sober" [hq - fullscreen]

How do you pick one song from a group when you like so many? Decisions, decisions. This has always been a favorite of mine and one that turned me into a Tool fan.

I've always been about the music, but there is something incredibly intriguing about this video that I absolutely love. The stop-motion, lighting, camera angles, and visuals, combine to give a fascinating, yet eerie performance. As always it helps to be accompanied by a great song.

Tuesday, September 21, 2010

Hey all

Just wanted to let you know that I have added all the past music picks from my Internal Pathways To Contention blog, over to the music player play list.

Soundgarden - "Burden In My Hand"

I've always been a big Soundgarden fan, actually anything with Chris Cornell at the helm is usually good. This is one of their less heavy, but very catchy, tunes.

Monday, September 20, 2010

Avenged Sevenfold - "Bat Country" (Video)

A good heavy one for a shitty Monday morning. Enjoy

Saturday, September 18, 2010

Seether- "Hang On"

As you know I'm a huge Seeter fan, I really just love this song.

Friday, September 17, 2010

Candlebox - "You" (Live)

Another great band from the 90's, Candlebox had some great breakout hits, including this one.

Thursday, September 16, 2010

Stone Sour - "Bother" & "Through The Glass"

Believe it or not, this is the same lead singer of the band Slipknot, along with some other members. This has always been his side project predating Slipknot, and this band really shows his range as a singer and songwriter.

A great song.

What the hell, I'll put up "Through The Glass" as well. Enjoy

Wednesday, September 15, 2010

Mudvayne - "World So Cold"

Make no mistake, these guys are hard core. I have one of their albums and it is for the serious metal/thrash fan only. This is a softer side of them if you can believe that. This was the song that drew my attention to them.

Tuesday, September 14, 2010

Cage The Elephant - "Ain't No Rest For The Wicked"

This song hit the scene sometime last year. Its a very catchy and cool tune that I like a lot.

Monday, September 13, 2010

Flyleaf

Flyleaf fiasco this weekend. Click to read about the ass hat that let me down.

Finger Eleven - Paralyzer

Another really cool song, unfortunately another disappointment of an album, its the only good song on there in my humble opinion.

Sunday, September 12, 2010

Cinderella - Gypsy Road

I'll give you another one of my 80's favorites for the weekend. Cinderella is just one of those great bluesy sounding bands. I had the chance to see them a few years ago, opening for Poison, they put Poison to shame.

Saturday, September 11, 2010

Five Finger Death Punch- Bad Company

I have to put this up now, especially after SoccerMom mentioned it to me.  I heard it a few weeks ago and it is a great remake of a great classic.  The video is also a great show of troop support from the band, going overseas to provide some well deserved entertainment.

Also seems fitting for 9/11

Friday, September 10, 2010

Violent J "Yellow Brick alleyway"

And now for something completely different...

A friend of mine turned me on to this guy. This album is a stoner's take on The Wizard Of Oz, if you ever have a chance to hear it beginning to end, its definitely worth it. This particular song always had me rolling just because of the chorus. This song picks up as his house just landed in Oz after the storm.

P.S. Don't have any kids around listening to this. Have a good laugh.

Thursday, September 9, 2010

Seven Mary Three - Cumbersome (Video)

This song just plain, flat out, absolutely, fucking rocks...
at a time when there weren't a lot of stand out acts. But don't even try to understand some of the lyrics.

Wednesday, September 8, 2010

Saving Abel - Addicted (Edited)

Ok, so I bought this CD because of this song, sad to say it's this and one other song on the whole CD that I like. Good video, sadly its the edited version of the song.

Tuesday, September 7, 2010

Saliva "Ladies and Gentlemen"

Here is another great band. Saliva has had quite a bit of air play in the past years, but I think they are still an under-appreciated group.
Here is one of my favorites by them. You will be seeing more of their music up here.

Monday, September 6, 2010

Godsmack - Voodoo

The song that started it all for me with this band. Some local New England boys that just plain rock. Sully just has such a distinctive voice, coupled with the great music, pure rock highness.

Saturday, September 4, 2010

Britny Fox "Girlschool"

I'm going 80's flash back on ya today. This is a great song, the band had way to much teased hair, but you know what, it was the 80's, they all did. I love the guitar work in this song, right from that opening riff, sounds good to me. It also doesn't hurt that the video has a ton of cute girls.
I used to have this on cassette and was recently trying to find it on CD, but it looks like I'll only be able to get it on line, as all the local stores don't carry it new or used.

Friday, September 3, 2010

Everlast "What It's Like" & "White Trash Beautiful"

Everlast was originally the front man for House Of Pain, you all know the song "Jump Around". This first video is off his 1998 album which would meet with critical acclaim for his combination of rap, acoustic and electric guitar work. The video for "What It's Like" is a great comentary on how we can be blind to those around us.

Unfortunately the video is the edited version, cutting about a minute from the actual song, the full length song is on the media player to the right. The second video is the lead track off of his 2004 album. Both are good songs. Enjoy.

"What It's Like"

"White Trash Beautiful"

Thank You

I need to thank Ms Scarlett publicly for letting me know that the comments were not working on this blog. This past week I was thinking no one liked my choices ;).

So, it's all better now. Feel free to let me know what you think or if you have some opinions on the matter.

Chevelle - Send The Pain Below

These guys have a few songs on the air waves, but this was the one that turned me on to them.

Wednesday, September 1, 2010

Slipknot "Snuff" & "Dead Memories"

This is such a great song, the slowly rising tempo coupled with powerful lyrics, just a great song.

"Snuff"

Excerpts from Wikipedia:

"Snuff" is a song by American heavy metal band Slipknot, Released as the fifth single from their fourth album All Hope Is Gone on September 28, 2009,[1] the song charted at number two on the Billboard Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart, their highest charted single to date, surpassing Dead Memories.[2]It was not included in the All Hope Is Gone World Tour setlist but the band performed the song live at the October 11, 2009 performance in Kennewick, Washington.[3]
Roadrunner Records placed Snuff at No. 6 for its greatest music videos of all time.[4]The song was also nominated for "Best Single" at "The 2010 Kerrang Awards",[5]but lost to Liquid Confidence by You Me at Six.[6]

On the background and themes of "Snuff", vocalist Corey Taylor said the following: "This is the slow one. It's another personal one. Again, not naming names, it's about someone who helped me through a lot and I thought she felt the same way that I did and then she really let me down. At the same time, it was good that she did, because it was that final push to me figuring out myself. The lyrics are pretty self-explanatory.[7]

And just so you know, Slipknot is a very heavy band normally, so I included another favorite of mine off the same album, which is more akin to their sound.
"Dead Memories"

Theory Of A Deadman - "Bad Girlfriend" [broadcast version]

What can I say about this song...Hmmmm...

Good hook, good guitar riff, good lyrics, and sexy video. Enough said.

Bad Girlfriend

Over all this is another good album, with a quite a few stand out tracks.

Monday, August 30, 2010

Tantric "Breakdown"

This is a great album, beginning to end, period. It's one of those albums that I would want to have sex to, nice, long, hot, steamy, sexy, drawn out sex.

FYI: When the band "Days of the New" broke up, this band would rise from the remaining members.

Sunday, August 29, 2010

Crossfade "Cold"
