BLOGGER TEMPLATES AND TWITTER BACKGROUNDS »
Welcome to my music blog. I started this due to increased interest in my music picks on my main blog. I have quite the eclectic and varied musical taste. So come on in, sit back, turn up the volume, and enjoy the music.

Manowar - "Heart of Steel"

Ok, so they fit every stereo-type for 80's rock, but this is a really cool album nun-the-less. This is one of their softer tunes.

I did put a different song by them up on the playlist, I could not get a full version of this one.

Megadeth - "Hangar 18"

Ok, I'm back. I know you've missed me, I've been gone for a week so lets start with something heavy.

I've never been a huge Megadeth fan but there are some songs I really like by them, such as this one. I love the guitar onslaught on this.

Slash - "Beautiful Dangerous" ft. Fergie

Since I already put this up elsewhere, I figured I may as well add it here.

I knew Slash had a new album out, but I didn't know he had Fergie singing on one of the tracks. I came upon this last night, and have to say I find Fergie incredibly sexy in this video. I had to share the sexiness here.

The Verve -"Bittersweet Symphony"

I had never really heard this song until seeing the movie Cruel Intentions, and I've liked it ever since. This song is very popular world wide but The Verve would eventually loose all rights to it.

Excerpt from Wiki: Although the song's lyrics were written by Verve vocalist Richard Ashcroft, it has been credited to Keith Richards andMick Jagger after charges by the original copyright owners that the song was plagiarized from the Andrew Oldham Orchestra recording of The Rolling Stones' 1965 song "The Last Time."

Originally, The Verve had negotiated a licence to use a sample from the Oldham recording, but it was successfully argued that the Verve had used 'too much' of the sample.[5] Despite having original lyrics, the music of "Bitter Sweet Symphony" is partially based on the Oldham track, which led to a lawsuit with ABKCO RecordsAllen Klein's company that owns the rights to the Rolling Stones material of the 1960s. The matter was eventually settled, with copyright of the song reverting to ABKCO and songwriting credits to Jagger and Richards.
"We were told it was going to be a 50/50 split, and then they saw how well the record was doing," says band memberSimon Jones. "They rung up and said, 'We want 100 percent or take it out of the shops, you don't have much choice.'"

Pearl Jam - "Even Flow"

Another really great band. I maintain to this day that Ten is one of the best albums made, from beginning to end, just awesome. Eddie Vedder's vocal power combined with an incredible band, just pure power.

Alice In Chains - "Man In The Box"

This was another game changer, at least in my eyes. This song took grunge to a whole different level, and AIC would continue to evolve their sound, even after the loss of Layne Staley in 2002, they power on today.

I absolutely love this song.

Violent Femmes "Blister in the Sun"

Forgive me for not posting yesterday, we had a blizzard here in the north east dumping about two feet on us from Sunday into Monday. The internet had been down all day and there are still bad roads and power outages to contend with through out the area.

Anyway, this is a song I got turned onto by one of my favorite movies, "Grosse Point Blank".

Pink Floyd "Sorrow" HD

I can't believe I've not put up anything from Pink Floyd yet, they have to be one of the greatest bands to ever play, in my humble opinion.  This is a great song that highlights some of David Gilmour's guitar work.  This performance is off of the Pulse DVD, an incredible two disc show.  There have been many nights where I will retreat to my man-town, put this DVD in, crank up the sound, and just enjoy.

Unfortunately, Playlist does not list any Pink Floyd songs so I can't add anything to the player. You'll have to just enjoy the video.

Disturbed - "Down With The Sickness" (Explicit)

I figured we needed something heavy for a Monday morning, Disturbed will always fit that bill.

Three Days Grace - "Pain"

Three Days Grace is another band that if you've not heard them, your missing out.  They have had quite a few hits, and the two albums that I own by them are good works. This song is a great representation of their sound.

Tesla - "Modern Day Cowboy"

These guys had quite a few hits in their day, but this one is my favorite.

Slaughter - "Up All Night"

Yep, I got some more 80's lined up for you. This was a great one from Slaughter.

Queensryche - Eyes Of A Stranger

What can I say about Queensryche? How about they just plain fucking rock. Two really good albums, Operation Mindcrime and Empire are both on my high rotation list. This song is off of Mindcrime.

Live - "I Alone" (Live At Paradiso)

I've always like the Throwing Copper album from these guys, they always seem to have good music.

Nickelback - "Leader Of Men"

Before Niclelback hit the big time, they had this single out. It is still one of my favorites by them.

Kate Nash - "Foundations"

I happened to stumble upon this song Wednesday night while watching a concert filmed in England with Linkin Park. I have to say I like it, a good song with these funny yet truthful lyrics all sung with a great accent. I listened to it a few times yesterday and do really like it, apparently its been around since 2007. I also found another one by her called "Dickhead" that is a good tune as well.

The Allman Brothers Band "Whipping Post"

A great classic for a Thursday, my favorite by The Allman Brothers Band.
Because sometimes I feel....

Nine Inch Nails - "Closer"

This is a great fucking song. The chorus gets me every time.

Hurricane - "Over The Edge" Live

I've been listening to this CD for a week now, it has not left my truck since I got it.  A huge thanks to Beryl for the gift of music, she sent me a gift card for Amazon and I was able to pick up some great CD's, she's like my dealer keeping me hooked on my drug of choice ;).  This video is a live version of the song that I like the most by them, not quite so good in the quality department, but its really hard to find some decent stuff by more obscure bands on YouTube, and of course I can't find it for the media player.  Anyhow, great band, catchy songs, and the lead singer has a great voice. Enjoy.

Johnny Cash - 'Hurt"

Mr. Cash doing a remake from another favorite band of mine. This was just before his death a few years ago. He always had such a great voice.
